This class culminates in the creating of an exhibition. This course also surveys career opportunities through field trips and discussions with museum professionals (curators, collection managers educators, conservators, etc.). You will discuss critical issues for museums like repatriation of cultural property, roles and responsibilities of museum professionals, and the importance of diversity and inclusion in collecting and exhibiting. You will study the history and missions of diverse museums, and their role in shaping public discourse on art, history and society.
